We’re a group of people who are gathered together by Jesus. That might sound a bit weird to be honest. However it all depends who Jesus is.
We’re convinced that Jesus is God. We don’t just think he might be; we’re convinced he really is God. We’re convinced by one simple fact: Jesus died and then came back to life.
It wasn’t a magical illusion, nor did he fall badly ill and then had a sudden turn for the better. No, we’re convinced he was dead like the chicken you buy in Tesco’s. The kind of dead which means there is no chance of coming back…
unless you’re God. You see Jesus defeated death. He rose again to life. So he must be God. People don’t do that. People don’t predict it and then it happens. We’re convinced Jesus is God. And that makes all the difference!
Because of that we gather together to sing praise to him. Because Jesus is God and he says that the whole bible is true and God’s word we listen to God’s word. Jesus says he wants to be our friend so we talk to him in prayer. It’s not just Sundays, we’re convinced he’s God 24/7 so we want to live our lives recognising him rightly wherever we are, whatever we’re doing.
